Tucked into your exhaust is one of the most expensive parts on the car. The catalytic converter cleans up the exhaust gases before they leave the tailpipe, and it does the job quietly for years. It is also easier to damage than most people think.

The trouble usually starts with fuel. Not every tank is as clean as it should be, and poor-quality fuel does not burn completely. What is left over travels down the exhaust and settles inside the converter as deposits. Bit by bit the converter clogs. The engine struggles to breathe out, so it feels flat and thirsty, the engine warning light comes on, and in the end the converter fails.

How to use

Before filling up, fit the spout and pour the full 250 ml can into the fuel tank. One can treats 40 to 60 litres of petrol. Then fill the tank, so the additive mixes well with the fuel.

Drive the car as usual. That is all there is to it.
