XADO Atomic Metal Conditioner Maximum Transmission is a treatment for manual gearboxes, transfer cases and axles. You add one syringe to the gear oil, and it restores worn gears and bearings and protects them for 100,000 km. It carries our highest Revitalizant rating, RF 100.

A manual gearbox rarely fails without warning. It complains first, and the complaints are easy to recognise. A whine in one gear that was not there last year. A crunch going into second or third unless you take your time. A gear lever that has grown notchy. A hum from the back axle that rises with your speed.

Every one of those sounds is metal that has worn. Gear teeth carry enormous pressure on a very small patch of contact, and over the years that patch becomes pitted and scratched. A fair word of caution: it is not recommended for parts that are completely worn out or mechanically damaged, such as a gear with a broken tooth. Those need a repair. If the gearbox is jumping out of gear or making heavy knocking noises, have it inspected.

How to use

Apply it to oil that is clean and in good condition, ideally just after a gear oil change, because the oil must stay in while the treatment works.

Drive the vehicle first so the gearbox or axle is at its normal working temperature. Remove the filler plug and squeeze the full contents of the syringe into the unit. Refit the plug. One syringe treats a unit holding up to 4 litres of oil.

Drive for 3 to 5 minutes straight away to mix it in, then use the vehicle as normal.

The treatment takes place over 1,000 to 1,500 km. Do not change the gear oil during that time. Repeat the treatment after 100,000 km. It is compatible with all types of oil made for manual transmissions.
