XADO 75W-80 GL-4 is a semi-synthetic gear oil for manual gearboxes in cars and trucks. It carries Revitalizant, our technology that protects and restores the metal surfaces of the gears and bearings while you drive.

Most drivers change their engine oil on schedule and never think about the gearbox. Yet the oil in there has been working just as hard, for far longer. It carries the full force of the engine through a set of gears, thousands of times on every trip. Over the years it thins, darkens and fills with fine metal dust. The first sign is usually in your hand: a notchy change into second, a crunch when you hurry, a gear lever that feels stiff first thing in the morning.

Fresh gear oil puts that right, and this one is made for modern, heavily loaded gearboxes. It is a light, free-flowing oil, so changes are smooth from the first kilometre and the gearbox wastes less of the engine’s power. It also keeps its protective strength when the gearbox is hot and under heavy load.

Revitalizant then goes to work on the gear teeth and bearings, building a ceramic-metal layer on the surfaces that carry the load. The result is a quieter gearbox, cleaner gear changes and a longer life for a part that is very expensive to rebuild.

How to use

Check your owner’s handbook for the grade and how much oil the gearbox holds. Most car gearboxes take 2 to 3 litres, so plan on two or three 1-litre cans. Truck gearboxes take considerably more.

With the vehicle level and the gearbox warm, remove the filler plug first, then the drain plug, and let the old oil drain fully. Refit the drain plug, then fill with XADO 75W-80 GL-4 until the oil reaches the bottom of the filler hole. Refit the filler plug.
