XADO ATF III/IV/V Red Boost is a universal synthetic fluid for automatic gearboxes. It carries Revitalizant, our technology that protects and restores the metal parts inside the gearbox while you drive.
A good automatic gearbox is one you never notice. You press the pedal, the car gathers speed, and the gears change so smoothly that you could not say when. If you have started to notice yours, something has changed: a thump as it drops into gear, a pause before it pulls away, revs that rise before the car responds.
Very often the cause is simply tired fluid. In an automatic, the fluid does far more than lubricate. It carries the engine’s power, operates the gear changes and cools the whole unit. As it ages, it loses the precise grip the clutches inside rely on, and the gear changes turn rough.
This fluid is made to bring the smoothness back and keep it. Its friction properties stay stable over a long life, so gear changes feel like those of a new gearbox, and it improves the accuracy of the whole system for a more comfortable drive. One fluid covers the standards of most American, European, Japanese and Korean car makers. Revitalizant then protects the gears, bearings and pump inside with a ceramic-metal layer, and our Red Boost formula keeps the fluid from tiring in the heat.
Why drivers choose it
Gear changes are smooth and free of jolts. It keeps that quality over a long service life. It exceeds the requirements of Dexron III H, Toyota Type T-IV and Mercon V. It suits a very wide range of makes, so it is an easy choice for a workshop or a family with several cars. And it flows well in any weather.
Made for cars like yours
- Toyota and Lexus automatics that specify Type T, T-II, T-III or T-IV fluid, including many Corolla, Premio, RAV4, Harrier and Prado models from the 2000s.
- Nissan automatics that specify Matic D, J or K, including X-Trail, Tiida, Wingroad and Navara.
- Mitsubishi and Hyundai automatics that specify SP-II or SP-III, including Pajero, Lancer and Outlander.
- Subaru, Mazda, Honda and Isuzu automatics that specify Dexron III, Mazda M-III or M-V, or Honda ATF-Z1.
It also suits many power steering systems that call for Dexron III fluid.
Please check before you buy, because the wrong fluid can damage an automatic gearbox. This fluid is not for CVT gearboxes, and not for newer cars that specify Toyota WS, Dexron VI or similar thin fluids. For those we stock XADO ATF VI+ and XADO CVT. Tell our specialists your make, model and year, and they will confirm the right one.
Genuine XADO, straight from the source
Every can we sell comes directly from XADO and arrives sealed. Changing automatic gearbox fluid properly takes the right equipment, so we recommend having it done at our Nairobi service centre.
The best gear change is the one you do not feel. Get yours back.
How to use
Check your owner’s handbook, or the gearbox dipstick, for the fluid type your car needs and how much it holds. A simple drain and refill replaces about 3 to 4 litres. A full fluid exchange needs 8 to 12 litres, depending on the gearbox.
Drain the old fluid with the gearbox warm, refit the drain plug, and refill through the dipstick tube or filler plug. Start the engine, move the selector slowly through every position, then check the level as your handbook describes, usually with the engine running and the gearbox warm. Top up a little at a time. Do not overfill.
