XADO Revitalizant EX120 for Diesel Engines is a treatment that rebuilds and protects the worn metal surfaces inside a diesel engine, including turbocharged and high-powered ones. It is added to the engine oil in three small doses. A full treatment for most cars and pickups takes three syringes.

A diesel engine has no spark plugs. It fires its fuel by squeezing air so hard that the air becomes hot enough to ignite the diesel by itself. Everything depends on that squeeze, which is called compression, and compression depends on a near-perfect seal between the pistons, their rings and the cylinders.

As those parts wear, the seal weakens, and a diesel lets you know. It becomes slow to start, especially on a cool morning. It smokes on start-up and under load. It rattles more, pulls less and uses more fuel and oil.

EX120 works on the worn surfaces themselves. Carried by the oil to the places where metal rubs on metal, Revitalizant forms a durable ceramic-metal coating that rebuilds the surface and restores the fit between the parts. Compression comes back, friction falls, and the engine starts, sounds and pulls more like it used to.

The treatment is given in three doses because the coating builds up in layers, each one forming on the last. EX120 carries a 20 per cent higher concentration of Revitalizant than XADO’s standard gel, for a faster and stronger effect.

How to use

Start the treatment soon after an oil change, and do not change the oil until the treatment is complete.

How many syringes you need depends on the engine’s oil capacity. An engine holding 3 to 10 litres needs three syringes, added one at a time. An engine holding 11 to 20 litres needs six, added two at a time. An engine holding 21 to 30 litres needs nine, added three at a time.

First dose: warm the engine to its normal working temperature. Squeeze the dose into the engine through the oil filler. Start the engine and let it idle for 5 to 10 minutes. Then drive as normal.

Second dose: after 150 to 250 km of driving, add the next dose in the same way.

Third dose: after another 150 to 250 km, add the final dose in the same way.

The treatment is complete 1,500 km after it began.

A new engine with less than 20,000 km on it is treated differently: in a single step, using two syringes.
