The colour of the smoke tells you what’s wrong, and in many cases XADO can fix it without opening the engine. Smoke is your engine’s way of telling you something has changed inside. The good news is that you can usually tell what it is from the colour. Blue or grey smoke means the engine is burning oil, usually because the piston rings have worn or become stuck with carbon. Black smoke means fuel is not burning properly, which on most cars points to dirty injectors.

A little white vapour on a cool morning is just condensation and disappears once the engine warms up. Thick white smoke that doesn’t go away is different, and we explain it below. Many smoking engines don’t need an expensive overhaul.
