XADO Atomex Foam A/C System Cleaner+ is a foam spray that cleans the inside of your car’s air conditioning system, without taking anything apart. You spray it in through the vents and it does the rest.

You know the smell. You switch on the air conditioning and, for the first few seconds, the car fills with a damp, musty odour like an old cupboard. It fades, so you put up with it. But it comes back every time, and it gets stronger.

The source is hidden deep behind the dashboard. The part that cools the air, called the evaporator, is cold and wet whenever the system runs. Dust drawn in from the road sticks to it, and in that dark, damp space the dirt builds into a layer that smells and blocks the airflow. No air freshener can reach it. A freshener only covers the smell for a while.

This cleaner goes to the source. The foam expands as it leaves the can, pushing into the awkwardly shaped air ducts and onto the evaporator itself. It loosens the built-up dirt, then breaks down into liquid and drains away through the system’s own drain, carrying the dirt out with it.

How to use

Work outdoors or in a well-ventilated place.

Switch off the engine and open all the doors. Shake the can well. Spray the foam into the air vents. For the best result, fit the extension tube and spray directly onto the evaporator.

Leave the foam to work for 15 to 30 minutes. Then start the engine and let it idle for 3 to 4 minutes with the air conditioning switched on.

Keep the can away from heat and flames, as it is pressurised, and out of the reach of children. Avoid breathing in the spray.
